Situated between Cameroon and Gabon, Equatorial Guinea is not adjacent to the other Guineas. It was a colony named Spanish Guinea. Stamps presumably issued prior to independence and modern name.

Laos traces its history to the Kingdom of "Lan Xang" or Land of a Million Elephants, which existed from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century.     RUSSIA
Russian Federation
Rossiyskaya Fedratsiya

[Editor's Commentary: The first stamp is dated 1993 and bears the word appearing to be ROSSIJA directly below the Cyrillic. This is obviously issued after the events of 1989 and collapse of the Soviet Union into separate states. It also carries the inscription "Elephas Maximus" in English. The middle stamp appears to my eye to be Russian also but a site viewer wrote and said it is from Bulgaria. The third stamp bears the familiar legend CCCP., which was seen worldwide as the initials of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and bears the date 1964 which is during Soviet rule. If someone knows otherwise I will gladly stand corrected and reclassify one or more of the stamps. ed.]
