The strength of elephants is legendary .. especially the Asian or Indian species which is generally thought to be stronger than its African cousins.

Elephants in Africa routinely knock over entire trees to get at the tender branches they like to eat.

There have been reports of angry elephant herds pushing railway trains off the tracks, presumably because many of them have been killed by trains in the eastern hemisphere.

In some eastern countries they are used for pulling logs from forests where no vehicle can go. A bull can drag a three ton log out of the woods and load it onto a truck.
