If you DIE tonight, are you certain where you will be TOMORROW ??

Many Christian find it is easier to Believe than it is to believe they believe. Take heart. You can be assured of your eternal life in Christ.

There are many, many verses in Scripture which speak to the matter of assurance. Most of them are found in the letters from the Apostles and Paul to various congregations of believers.

More importantly, Jesus Himself spoke to this issue. The verses on this page, in three translations, were selected by me author, as some which I hope will help you accept you salvation as a real and permanent thing. I performed a simple search at www.biblegateway.com on two key words: "saved" and "eternal", limiting the search to the four gospels. Following the verses, I will discuss certain points.

Matthew 10:22
New International Version [NIV]

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
New King James Version [NKJV]

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
The Message [MSG]

There is a great irony here: proclaiming so much love, experiencing so much hate! But don't quit. Don't cave in. It is all well worth it in the end.
Matthew 24:13
but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Staying with it — that's what God requires. Stay with it to the end. You won't be sorry, and you'll be saved.
Matthew 25:46
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. "Then those 'goats' will be herded to their eternal doom, but the 'sheep' to their eternal reward."
Mark 13:13
Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. There's no telling who will hate you because of me. Stay with it—that's what is required. Stay with it to the end. You won't be sorry; you'll be saved.
Mark 16:16
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Whoever believes and is baptized is saved; whoever refuses to believe is damned.
John 10:9
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for — will freely go in and out, and find pasture.
John 3:14-16
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. In the same way that Moses lifted the serpent in the desert so people could have something to see and then believe, it is necessary for the Son of Man to be lifted up—and everyone who looks up to him, trusting and expectant, will gain a real life, eternal life.

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.
John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. That is why whoever accepts and trusts the Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever! And that is also why the person who avoids and distrusts the Son is in the dark and doesn't see life. All he experiences of God is darkness, and an angry darkness at that.
John 5:24
Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
John 6:40
For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. This is what my Father wants: that anyone who sees the Son and trusts who he is and what he does and then aligns with him will enter real life, eternal life. My part is to put them on their feet alive and whole at the completion of time.
John 6:47
Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I'm telling you the most solemn and sober truth now: Whoever believes in me has real life, eternal life.
John 10:27-29
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than ; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand . Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. My sheep recognize my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of my hand. The Father who put them under my care is so much greater than the Destroyer and Thief. No one could ever get them away from him.
John 10:27-29

[Author Notes]

HATE. Let's begin with this word. Are we Christians hated? You may not experience the feeling of being hated for following Christ. If you delve into what is happening in America culture and society, you will see there is a strong movement toward eradication God from all public venues, particularly all things Christian in government and public places.

If you have spent time in the Middle EAst, you know that a great many people hate you because you are Christian and/or American. Hatred of this kind is in the news frequently; children being viciously persecuted by school administrations for having a Bible in their backpack and reading it on school grounds. Or telling their friends about the saving grace of Christ.

What the Word is telling us is to bear it. To hold onto our active belief until one of the ends comes. More likely it will be your personal end of life in your body, unless HE comes soon. If people hate you, do what Jesus said to do ... pray FOR them.

ENDURE. verb (used with object)
1. to hold out against; sustain without impairment or yielding; undergo
2. to bear without resistance or with patience; tolerate

BAPTIZE. We commonly think of this word as meaning Christening into the Church founded by Jesus. Modern English language dictionaries treat the word as meaning exactly that. It has not always been so. In the day of the original use of the word, it did not have such meaning. Greek Christians used the word in trade, meaning "to dip, steep, dye, color,". The connotation is that they were dipped and steeped in the likeness of Christ. They became identified with Him.

Here is the etymology of the word.
c.1300, from O.Fr. batisier (11c.), from L. baptizare, from Gk. baptizein "to immerse, to dip in water," also used figuratively, e.g. "to be over one's head" (in debt, etc.), "to be soaked (in wine);" in Greek Christian usage, "baptize;" from baptein "to dip, steep, dye, color," from PIE base *gwabh- "to dip, sink."

RIGHTEOUS. What does it mean to be "righteous" and eligible for eternal life in Christ ?
The first use of 'righteous' in the Bible is found in: Genesis 6:9 [NIV]
"This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God."

I shows that Noah was an example of what God wants in humans and thus he was saved, along with his "whole house".

The next occurrence is: Genesis 15:6
Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

Abram, later Abrham, was cloaked in righteous for the simple act of believing God.

In the NIV there are 493 instances of the word righteous or righteousness. In the gospels, Jesus makes the distinction between behavior seen as righteous by men, and what God calls righteousness. Inevitably, true righteousness comes as a gift from God to those who BELIEVE.

GOATS & SHEEP. The terms are figurative to denote the difference between those who do NOT follow JEsus, the Good Shepherd who lays down His life. The goats do NOT hear His voice. The sheep do. He has called believers to join the flock shepherded by the Lamb of God. These terms were meaningful as illustration for the people and place spoken. Our industrialized and digitized world of today tends to not comprehend how we Christians love and follow our Shepherd, who leads us home to the Father.

JOHN 5:24. This verse is my personal favorite of all the words in the Bible. It is so simple and forthright that it can not be misunderstood. If you have heard what He said, from a pulpit, a street corner, an acquaintance, or any other source ... and you BELIEVED it, you have no cause whatever to question or doubt your salvation. By believing, you have already passed from spiritual death, which is the condition of humans until saved, into eternal life. Even now, living in your body, you ARE eternal. It is only by following Jesus through the doorway of the body's death that you will experience life eternal.

If you do not have enough faith to support this conclusion, ASK GOD to help your unbelief. Cry out as in Mark 9:23 “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
